- Shankh (Conch Shell): As Shankh originated from the body of Shankhchud, a demon slain by Shiva, it is not used in worship.
- Coconut Water: Coconut water symbolizes Goddess Lakshmi and is therefore not poured on the Shivling.
- Ketaki Flower: Due to Ketaki flower's role in supporting a lie by Brahma Ji, it is forbidden for Shiva’s worship.
- Turmeric: As turmeric is associated with feminine beauty, it is not offered on the Shivling, which represents Shiva’s masculine form.
