Saturn in Different Houses & Signs
Saturn: Characteristics and Influence
- It is worth noting that Saturn is a tough planet. Under the influence of every planet, it does not fail to provide results, not even when it is combusted in accordance with the Sun, as Saturn is considered to be the son of the Sun. Every father wishes his son to prove better than him, which reflects in the relationship between the Sun and Saturn. There is a popular Sanskrit saying:
- "Parajayam ichchet Putraadapi Sishyaadapi"
- Which means: "Wishing your son to defeat all others."
- Only two other planets are considered as powerful as Saturn: Mars and Rahu. Rahu, being a shadow planet, increases Saturn's power when in contact with it.
Effects of Saturn in Different Houses and Signs
- Saturn is known as the planet of communication and is considered a messenger. Due to this classification, Saturn governs communications, the labor class, and acts as the guide and protector of the downtrodden and suffering groups in society. It rules over steel, iron, and gas (petrol), and it governs oils—both edible and mechanical—as well as the bone structure of the skull in the human body.
- It is common knowledge that a body without much flesh or muscle can survive, but it cannot function without blood and bones, symbolizing Saturn's importance in structural stability.
- Saturn is often compared to Mars, the other solid planet, as both share important functions. Mars rules electricity, which is essential for communication systems, and blood in the body. Saturn, in contrast, rules hair in relation to the skin. Though Mars and Saturn are rivals, they cooperate for the benefit of living beings, protecting both human and animal life.
- Additionally, Saturn is the lord of rocks and mountains, while Mars is considered the lord of the Earth. These two planets, despite their rivalry, work together to protect the world’s inhabitants.
Saturn's Movement and Impact
Saturn is the slowest planet in astrology. While Herschel, Neptune, and Pluto move slightly slower than Saturn, their far distance from Earth means they do not have a significant impact on personal affairs or lives. These planets are also considered in Vedic Astrology, but they are distant and less relevant in everyday astrology.
