Malika Yoga

Conditions for Formation

Malika Yoga is formed when all seven planets (excluding Rahu and Ketu) occupy seven consecutive houses starting from the Lagna or any other house.

Results

The effects of Malika Yoga depend on the house from which it begins:

  • Lagna Malika: The native becomes a ruler with control over abundant resources.
  • Dhana Malika: The native is virtuous, steadfast, wealthy, and respectful towards parents.
  • Vikrama Malika: The native is courageous, affluent, but suffers from physical weakness.
  • Matru Malika: The native is generous, sovereign, and enjoys immense fortunes.
  • Suta Malika: The native is ritualistic, charitable, and affluent.
  • Ripu Malika: The native gains wealth sporadically but is greedy.
  • Kaletra Malika: The native is favored by people in power and popular among women.
  • Ashtama Malika (Eighth House): The native is blessed with longevity, recognition, but may be poor and henpecked.
  • Bhagya Malika: The native is powerful, virtuous, religious, and fond of long journeys.
  • Karma Malika: The native is optimistic, well-regarded, and engages in virtuous deeds.
  • Aaya Malika: The native is capable, majestic, admired by their peers, and loved by the opposite sex.
  • Vyaya Malika: The native is strict yet respected for their generous outlook.

Remarks

  • Shadow planets Rahu and Ketu are not included in Malika Yoga because they lack physical bodies.
  • The starting house of the Malika Yoga determines its effects, as indicated by the names listed above.
  • Most authorities agree with this classification of Malika Yogas, but Bhavartha Ratnakara suggests it always starts from the Lagna.
