Shakata Yoga
Shakata Yoga
Conditions for Formation
Shakata Yoga is formed when:
- Jupiter and the Moon are in the sixth and eighth houses to one another.
- Jupiter is not in a quadrant from the Lagna.
Results
A native born under Shakata Yoga will:
- Belong to a royal family but eventually fall into poverty.
- Suffer from poverty and lead an immaterial life.
- Be consistently troubled, unhappy, and disliked by those in power, especially the rulers.
Remarks
- The Moon is weakened by being in the sixth from Jupiter, and Jupiter does not occupy a ternary (fifth or ninth) from the Lagna, which weakens its influence.
- Therefore, Jupiter does not support the Lagna or provide the expected benefits, as it fails to strengthen the Moon sign or bring fortune (through Dhana Karaka).
- The effects of Shakata Yoga are not always seen in many charts because the necessary positions of other planets, like the Lagna lord, Sun, and eleventh and second lords, are often different.
- However, the influence of Shakata Yoga is most noticeable when either the Moon or Jupiter transits the sixth or eighth houses relative to each other.
